Part 4 of 16Seven Lamps Before the Throne
Why did the Spirit descend as a dove? An eleven-point biblical questionnaire on the identity of the Holy Spirit within the Trinity.
Part 4 moves deeper into the identity of the Holy Spirit by asking why Scripture visually manifests the Spirit of God as a dove at the baptism of Jesus — a word that is feminine in both Hebrew and Greek.
The episode then begins an eleven-point biblical questionnaire, designed to lead viewers toward a thoughtful conclusion about the Spirit’s identity: three distinct Persons; a Parent and Child relationship within the Trinity; Jesus as the only begotten Son; the involvement of both the Father and the Spirit in the conception of Christ; the Spirit as a second Parent who is not a second Father; the Spirit’s work in birth; and male and female both made in the image of God.
Yona Tree’s conclusion — presented as the ministry’s interpretation — is that the Holy Spirit is the Mother figure within the two-Parent, one-Child family union of the Holy Trinity.
