Part 1 of 16Seven Lamps Before the Throne
One God. Three Persons. The series opens by distinguishing the ontological and economic study of the Trinity and introducing the Nicene Creed.
In this opening episode of Seven Lamps Before the Throne, Yona Tree begins a theological journey into the mystery of the Holy Spirit and Her relationship to the Father and the Son.
The episode introduces two ways of studying God. Ontology examines God’s divine being — His oneness, self-existence, eternalness, omnipotence, omnipresence, omniscience, goodness, and immutability. Economy examines the distinct roles of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit in creation and in the redemption of mankind.
Rather than a dissertation on the oneness of God, the series focuses on the threeness of God: who the three Persons of the Trinity are to one another, and who They are to us as the children of God. The episode closes by reciting the Nicene Creed in full, preparing for a closer look at several of its phrases in Part 2.
