Part 10 of 16Seven Lamps Before the Throne

Lady Wisdom

10:18 Chapter 4 & Chapter 5: Lady Wisdom

The sevenfold Spirit of Isaiah 11:2, the seven lamps of Revelation 4:5, the menorah — and the seven attributes in the words of Lady Wisdom.

About this episode

Who is the mysterious Woman called Wisdom in the book of Proverbs, and how is She connected to the sevenfold Spirit of God?

Part 10 lists the seven attributes of the Spirit described in Isaiah 11:2 — the Spirit of the LORD, of wisdom, of understanding, of counsel, of might, of knowledge, and of the fear of the LORD. Revelation 4:5 describes seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, and the tabernacle menorah — shaped like an almond tree with six branches from one trunk — reflects that sevenfold nature.

The episode then sets those attributes beside Lady Wisdom’s own words in Proverbs 8: “Counsel is mine.” “I am understanding.” “I have strength.” “Receive my instruction, and knowledge.” “The fear of the LORD is to hate evil.” “The LORD possessed me in the beginning of his way.” Wisdom’s house, built on seven pillars (Proverbs 9:1), strengthens the connection Yona Tree proposes between Lady Wisdom and the Holy Spirit.
