Part 3 of 16Seven Lamps Before the Throne

2 Heavenly Parents

10:11 Introduction

The Word of God born of the Breath of God — and four ways the Father and the Spirit may be understood as Heavenly Parents.

About this episode

As Christians we believe the Word of God is inspired — God-breathed. Part 3 follows that thought to the mystery of the Son, the Word, being begotten by the will of the Father and born of the Breath of God, the Spirit, before all ages.

The episode identifies four ways the Father and the Holy Spirit may be understood as Heavenly Parents:

  1. Of the pre-incarnate Word — the eternal Son, not a created being, through whom all things were made.
  2. Of the incarnate Word — at the conception of Christ, both the power of the Highest and the Holy Ghost were present (Luke 1:35).
  3. Of the resurrected Word — in a more metaphorical sense, the Father begot Christ from the dead by decree, and the Spirit brought Him forth in resurrection life.
  4. Of the redeemed — the Church is begotten again by the Father and born again of the Spirit.
