Part 16 of 16Seven Lamps Before the Throne

The Holy Trinity

10:50 Chapter 7 & Conclusion

The final episode — the lost sheep, the lost coin and the prodigal son as three seekers, and the invitation of Revelation 22.

About this episode

In the final installment of Seven Lamps Before the Throne, Yona Tree closes the series with a trilogy of parables from Luke 15 that reveal the loving heart of the Holy Trinity toward lost humanity.

  • The Lost Sheep portrays God the Son as the Good Shepherd who searches for the lost.
  • The Lost Coin portrays the Holy Spirit — in Yona Tree’s interpretation — as the woman who lights a candle and searches diligently until what was lost is found.
  • The Prodigal Son portrays God the Father, who sees His child a great way off and runs to embrace him.

A lost sheep, a lost coin, a lost child. A shepherd, a woman, a father. Salvation comes from the Father, through the Son, by the transforming work of the Holy Spirit — and it cannot be earned. The study ends with the vision of Revelation 22, where “the Spirit and the bride say, Come,” and a final summary of the offices of each Member of the Holy Trinity.
